 History
Fiskflyg was founded in 1942 by the Lundkvist
brothers. Initially, the company was a fish wholesaler and boat
transport company. Later, a general store was opened in Luspebryggan
(Luleälven River).
In 1953, the first seaplane was purchased, a Republic RC-3 "Sea-Bee".
This was the start of operations including air transport of passengers,
goods, fish, and provisions as far away as the Luleåälven
River area.
Air service operations went well and the company expanded. Seaplane
traffic grew and helicopters were purchased. At most, there were
eight air transports in operation at the same time.
During its 60-year history, the company has adapted to changing
times and customer demands. Today boat transports, seaplane service,
and fish wholesaling have been left behind and the company has
specialized on helicopter transports with its own service stations
and three generations of expertise, knowledge of the local region,
and numerous stories. |
