Hiking – Kvikkjokk

From our base in Kvikkjokk you  can easily start or end your hike with helicopter. The helicopter provides easy access to the surrounding mountains and hiking trails. Another advantage with flying is the possibility to enjoy the beatiful views from above. Below you can read more about the Padjelanta trail, Nordkalotten trail and Kings trail that passes through Kvikkjokk.

Padjelanta trail (Padjelantaleden)

From our base in Ritsem and Kvikkjokk we can offer you flights along the beautiful Padjelanta trail. This famous hiking trail is perfect if you want to enjoy Sareks beautiful wilderness but at the same time use existing hiking paths. The hiking trail starts in Kvikkjokk and ends in Ritsem around 150 km later. The trails runs through Tarra valley with plenty of flowers and animal habitat, to Darreluoppal where the mountains starts, then on to Duoddoar, Staloluokta, Arasluokta, Låddejåkkå, Kisuris and finally Akka. Cabins where you can sleep can be found all along the hiking trail. A very nice alternative is to fly helicopter to Staloluokta and then walk to Kvikkjokk or Ritsem, both trails with beautiful views over Sarek.

Day 4 Hiking Tarrekaisestugan – Njunjesstugan 6km
Day 5 Hiking Njunjesstugan – Kvikkjokk Bobäcken  12km (then boat the final 4 km to Kvikkjokk)

Day 3 Hikning Arasluokta – Låddejåkkå cottage / Låddejåhkå 13 km
Day 4 Hikning Låddejåkkåstugan / Låddejåhkå – Kisuris cottage / Gisuris 24 km
Day 5 Hikning Kisurisstugan / Gisuris – Änonjalme 16 km (finally boat or our helicopter back to Ritsem.)
– If you start to feel tired, we can come and pick you up in Darreluoppal, Staloluokta or Kutjaure

Nordkalotten trail

From Kvikkjokk we can provide easy helicopter transport along the Nordkalotten trail. This hiking trail starts in Kvikkjokk and ends around 800 km later in Treriksröset (where Sweden, Norway and Finland meets). The trail goes through Sweden, Norway, and Finland and is made up of several different trails connected into one trail, the Nordkalotten trail. Cabins where you can sleep can usually be found at a distance of 10-20 km apart along the path. A very nice alternative is to fly helicopter to Staddajåkkå and then walk back to Kvikkjokk. Along the way you will experience views of the famous Sulitelma glacier and Padjelanta national park.

Day 2 Hiking Staddaddajåkkå cabin – Varvek 20 km
Day 3 Hiking Varvek – Pieskehaure cabin 9 km
Day 4 Hiking Pieskehaure cabin – Vaimok cabin 18 km
Day 5 Hiking Vaimok cabin – Tarrekaise cabin 22 km
Day 6 Hiking Tarrekaise cabin – Njunjes cabin 6 km
Day 7 Hiking Njunjes cabin – Kvikkjokk Bobäcken 12 km (then boat the final 4 km to Kvikkjokk).
Of course we can also offer you transport to any of the above cottages along the Nordkalotten trail if that is what you want.

Kings trail (Kungsleden)

From our helicopter base in Kvikkjokk, Ritsem and Stora Sjöfallet we can reach large parts of the famous Kings trail by helicopter. The Kings trail is one of the worlds best hiking trails and starts in Hemavan in the south and ends 425 km later in Abisko in the north. Large parts of the trail goes through terrain that suites both beginners and more experienced hikers. On most parts of the trail you can also find STF cabins where you can sleep. The distance between the cabins are usually between 10-20 km with exception for the part between Ammarsnäs and Kvikkjokk. This part (about 130 km) requires that you carry a tent with you. A very nice alternative is to fly helicopter to Saltoluokta and then walk back with powerful views of Sarek and Rapa valley. Another alternative is to walk to Saltoluokta and let us pick you up for transport back to Kvikkjokk.
