The
Laponia world heritage site
A world heritage is a natural or cultural
environment that is so valuable that it is important to preserve
for all of humanity. Sweden has fourteen world heritage sites
and once listed a world heritage site has guaranteed protection
and care for future generations.
Laponia consists of the national parks Muddus, Padjelanta, Sarek,
and Stora Sjöfallet and the nature reserves Stubba and Sjaunja.
It also has the following places of interest: Tjuoldavágge
(Tjuoltadalen), Rapadeltat, and Sulidälbmá (Sulitelmamassivet).
