The Ritsem surroundings hold many streams suitable for fly fishing and spinfishing. Below you can read about some of the streams we fly fishermen to. These and many other streams in the area offer beautiful fishing after Arctic Char and Brown Trout.
About 15 km to the north west of Ritsem. Seukojokk is a small hidden stream that runs from the lake Katsak in the north down to Seukojaure in the south. The length of the stream is about 2 km and runs along the beautiful mountain side of Unna Seukok and offers great fishing after Arctic char. Species: Arctic char.
About 15 km to the south of Ritsem. If you are looking for fantastic Arctic Char fishing we can recommend Vuojatätno. The stream runs along the Sarek national park border with beautiful views towards Akka. Here you are allowed to fish within one kilometers on each side of the Padjelanta trail. In real terms that means that you can start fishing from the bridge next to Sallohaure Same village N67.542901° E16.968382° down to the lake Kutjaure. From Kutjaure you can then fishing down to the big lake Akkajaure but only on the west side of the stream. This becaue the other side is Sarek national park. Species: Arctic char, Brown trout.
About 30 km north west of Ritsem. If you want to go to a beautiful long fishing stream in the Ritsem mountain area we can recommend Valtajokk. The stream starts in Valtajaure/Tjorrokjaure close to the Swedish/Norwegian border and finishes after about 25 km in Akkajaure. A popular spot to set up camp is close Skaitejokk (N67.814179° E16.831914°) a nice little stream that runs down and joins Valtajokk. Species: Arctic char, Brown trout.
